A training program was organized jointly by National Seeds Corporation, Silguri (W.B.) and CISH- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malda on 10 January 2024 in training hall of RRS on the topic Feed and Fodder Development for Dairy farmers. The Chif guest of program was Dr Dipak Nayak I/c Head RRS Malda and Special guests was Dr. Sirajul Islam, Asst Director (Ag.) Malda, Shri Mithlesh Kumar, Area Manager, National Seeds Corporation, Siliguri (W.B.). During the training expert delivered his lecture on fodder requirement and suitable variety for dairy farmers. The demand of fodder is increasing and scarcity of green fodder is affecting milk production in the district. Although dairy farming and demand of seed of fodder is attractive entrepreneurship for rural youth. The NSC representative delivered a lecture on seed availability of fodder. Dr Raghav gave brief information about linkage of technology gap through clustering of farmers and marketing of produce. During the farmers interaction session Dr P N. Barman Sr. Scientist RRS advised farmers about legume based forage crops cultivation. Dr Shailesh Kumar SMS Fisheries advised to farmers about feed management and vaccination schedule for good health of dairy animals. During the program more than 45 farmers were present. The representative from Agrani FPO and group of Dairy farmers also attended the training program. Mr V.V. Diptkar, STO actively participated to successfully organize the sponsored program.
